Vusi Nova is the first VIP playing for charity on SABC 1’s glitzy new Deal or No Deal Celebrity.

AND the show brings an exciting “Money Model” twist.

For the next year, 52 South African A-listers will put their hearts on the line to raise money for SABC 1’s spin-off celebrity version of Deal or No Deal

In the first episode of the glitzy new weekly Deal or No Deal Celebrity, screened on Saturday, 9 March at 18:00, the suave SAMA-winning Afro-pop star Vusi Nova will be in the hot seat to battle the show’s notoriously stingy banker.

Fans of the daily Deal or No Deal Show will know that Vusi will stand a chance to win anything between R1 and R250 000 for his chosen charity. However, there are no red boxes to open in the glamorous Deal or No Deal Celebrity. Instead, Vusi and all the big-name stars in upcoming episodes will be bargaining on what’s inside shiny silver suitcases held by twenty drop-dead gorgeous “Money Models”.

In many international editions of the popular Deal or No Deal franchise, these “Money Models” are lovely, long-legged ladies. Some of them have even moved on to become famous personalities in their own right, like Meghan Markle and Chrissy Teigen who had brief stints as briefcase models in the early days of Deal or No Deal USA.

However, the “Money Models” in our South African Deal or No Deal Celebrity are not all wearing slinky cocktail dresses. In an exciting twist, only ten of them are. The remaining ten are stylish, handsome guys who will most definitely have viewers swooning.

At the start of the Deal or No Deal Celebrity episodes, the big-name star in the hot seat will ask one of these “Money Models” to hand over their briefcase, which will then be the one that will earn the celebrity cash for the charity they are playing for. From there, the celebrity will ask the other Money Models to open their briefcases one by one in different rounds. After each round, the show’s host, Katlego Maboe, receives a phone call from the mysterious banker, offering the celebrity a certain amount of cash for their briefcase. If they accept the deal, the game is over. If not, they continue to play until they either accept an offer or are left with the money inside the one they initially selected.

Tune into SABC 1 on Saturday at 18:00 to see how Vusi fares in this nerve-wracking game of chance and to which worthy cause he will donate his winnings.

Deal or No Deal Celebrity’s repeat broadcasts are on SABC 3 on Sundays at 16:30 and SABC 1 on Tuesdays at 22:00.
