Introducing season two from the YouTube series called 'The Unplug' - this series will see several artists perform their sophomore rendition of their songs over the next couple of weeks, brought to you by Slikour Onlife. The television broadcast of Unplug is a four-part performance. The series was created during the pandemic when live performances were prohibited and artists were looking to get their craft out, filling the vacuum through a pre-recorded concert. The show features artists who perform a 24-minute set and each song is intercepted with their insights – highlighting inspirations or the process in making the song.

A traditional music show that caters for indigenous music genres. The show is designed to provide valuable entertainment and to fulfill a national concern for the preservation of culture as expressed in the milieus of art, music and dance. Roots showcases the various genres of traditional and indigenous music in a mixture of education and entertainment. The two young presenters, who are also representatives of each gender, south African language mix (one is fluent in Zulu while the other in Sepedi) are very knowledgeable on the subject matter of traditional and indigenous music to hold credibility. In line with evolving broadcast trends, SABC1 deemed it necessary to re-format Live Amp as part of its strategy to increase its music entertainment offering.

Live Amp is where television viewers get to enjoy exciting features including the following:

The Top 5 Chart – where viewers are encouraged to vote for their favorite video of the week;

Live Amp Sessions – hanging out with artists in their own space;

Live Amp Shout Outs – the show goes to the viewers at various functions and in the streets to get them to send shout outs and also request their favorite videos;

Live Amp Vaults – is an old-school throw back song selection, a video that has been voted no 1 for a while is retired on the wall of fame and,

Video Mixing – where a DJ mix videos live on air.
