SABC1 will be hosting its annual Youth Day Symposium under the banner #Own Your Space – “Navigating this thing called life”.

The youth event will take place in the North West Province town of Potchefstroom on Thursday 13 June 2019, at the Madiba Banquet Hall starting at 9am.

Mzansi’s leading television channel is geared up and ready to grace the Province where 200 selected high school learners from the area will gather at the event for an educationally enriching experience.

The 2019 Youth Symposium will comprise of a diversity of speakers who will address pertinent issues facing the modern-day youth such as Mental Health, Self-Pride, Digital Technology, Education, Violence and other relevant topics.

With an exciting and informative program the Channel line-up will include Zulaikha Patel (#Pretoria Girls High Activist); Tiyani Nghonyama (CEO Of Geekulcha) Cayley Jorgensen (SADGA Representative); Themba J Lukhele (Skeem GP Foundation) and Melody Miya (Educator & TV Personality).

SABC1 personalities from Skeem Saam, Generations the Legacy, Real Goboza, YOTV, Verified, Selimathunzi and Expressions will also form part of the day’s program and learners will enjoy an opportunity to meet and greet their with on-screen favourites. SABC1 shows Selimathunzi and Expressions will cover the days’ events to showcase on air.

Learners will also stand a chance to receive three bursaries from DJ Mo Flava to attend Boston Media House, Jimmy Kleinhans’ On Target Business Solutions which will also award bridging courses to ten deserving learners.

The Youth Symposium will take place at the Madiba Banquet Hall in Potchefstroom on Thursday, 13 June 2019 in Potchefstroom, North West.
