- BLOW UP OR CAVE IN (Docu-Reality Loc)

Blow Up or Cave is about young people proclaiming what the streets have always known to be true about Hip Hop: it is driven by the youth. It’s young people who live, breath and drive hip hop, and in SA there’s a vibrant new wave of Hip Hop emerging. The wave is driven by a new generation of exuberant hip hop artist, DJ’s and producers who have their own sound and look. In the series they take us beyond the “skrr-skrr” labels, the flashy clothes, the trap sound to showcase what Hip Hop is in the age of soundcloud and social media. The series addresses topics such as: What space does consciousness play in this new wave of rappers? What has been the financial value of Hip Hop as an industry? What is the role of collaborations in bridging the gap in the global market? And how is the new wave defined? The question though is, will this generations’ Hip Hop continue to blow up or will it cave in on itself?
