SuperSport United is a South African football (soccer) club based in Pretoria that currently competes in the Premier Soccer League. The club was originally known as Pretoria City.
When Pretoria City was purchased by M-Net in 1994, it was renamed to SuperSport United. While the administrative headquarters are based in the Randburg suburb of Johannesburg, they however opted to maintain all football activities in Pretoria, with Tshwane University of Technology soccer fields utilized for training, and the home venue at Lucas Masterpieces Moripe Stadium. Amongst supporters, the club is nicknamed Matsatsantsa a Pitori.
The club's Laudium-based youth academy, named SuperSport Tottenham Hotspur Academy, is undoubtedly one of the best in the country. It comprise both an U15, U17 and U19 team. The latter currently play at the third level of South African football, in the Gauteng province of Vodacom League. The name of the youth academy today reflect the clubs partnership with English club Tottenham Hotspur. Some years ago, the youth academy was instead linked with Feyenoord. Among the most famous graduated player from the academy are: Daine Klate, Kermit Erasmus and Kamohelo Mokotjo.
