Johannesburg, Tuesday 14 September, 2010, After a period spanning 2 eventful years at the helm of the most popular music show in Mzansi as co-host and insert producer, Phila Mazibuko, has waved a big farewell hand to millions of television viewers live on the episode of the show on Friday 10 September 2010.

“Phila’s move from Live will not translate into a loss for the channel and its viewers. His youthful talent and creativity will be retained in the form of a presenting opportunity on one of the channel’s newest youth lifestyle show called Mzansi Insider, the details of which will be made public soon,” says Vukile Madlala, Channel’s Publicity Manager.

“In our initial press release in March of this year regarding proposed changes on Live, we promised that further developments on the show will be communicated as and when they are confirmed. We started with the Live Talent Search, followed by the exiting of your ‘boy’ T’bo Touch and the coming on board of Minenhle Dlamini. And now the announcement with Phila! Our audience should look forward to a series of further exciting changes regarding the channel’s programme offering.”  

An excited Phila had this to say when asked how he felt about the new developments in his professional life: “I’m really grateful for all the opportunities that being a LIVE presenter has given me. I’ve grown and learnt so much from that show but now its time to move on to other things and grow some more. I’m looking forward to the new challenges that are going to come with presenting Mzanzi Insider and I‘m very excited with the turn my career as a presenter has taken.”

Live in its current form was introduced on television in 2007 and has grown to become Mzansi’s hottest sought-after weekly music show on local television.
