LIVE Talent Search Update

 Phase 1 of SABC1’s Live Talent Search, which opened on Friday 03 February 2012, saw thousands of eager hopefuls taking time to register on-line to beat the cut-off date on Monday 13 February at 09h00. The original closing date of Friday the 10th had to be extended to allow applicants an added change at registering.

Registered hopefuls will receive an sms message providing them with details for the second leg of the Talent Search process which will see participating regions holding their own auditions.

Phase 2 of the SABC1’s Live Talent Search will kick-start in Gauteng with the Jo’burg auditions planned for this Saturday 18 February starting at 08h00. 

The Judging Panel in Gauteng will consist of Zizo Beda, Andile Ncube, and Thembi Seete – who will be assisted by seasoned representatives from SABC1 and those from the production team.

Durban (KZN)   : Mon 20 Feb
Bloemfontein (Free State)   : Sat 25 Feb
Nelspruit (Mpumalanga)   : Mon 27 Feb
Port Elizabeth (Eastern Cape)  : Sat 03 Mar
Cape Town (Western Cape)   : Mon 05 Mar

The channel will be working together with sister radio stations in the regions and a number of their radio personalities including Amaza (Umhlobo Wenene FM); Kabelo Molopyane (Motsweding FM); Shabbisto (Ligwalagwala FM); and Ukhozi FM’s Sipho Mbatha, will join the lively Bonang Matheba as members of the Judging Panel in their respective regions.

Asked to share on his experience as part of the Selection Panel, SABC1’s Portfolio Manager Entertainment Dichaba Phalatse said, “We were overwhelmed by the response of all the entries received! This truly reflects that LIVE is the biggest music TV show and that this job is the most sought after presenting job in the industry. We thank all the respondents for their thousands of entries. We are confident that somewhere out there we will soon discover our next LIVE presenter.”
