“Our lives intersect in mysterious ways.

We are tied together by the secrets we keep

But open to the harm that secrets bring.”

Intersexions, the award winning TV drama series makes its return on SABC 1 in February 2013. This is an episodic drama series with 26 independent but interrelated stand – alone episodes that follow the AIDS infection. Intersexions further explores love, relationships, and sex in the time of the HIV/AIDS pandemic. In this season we discover how the secrets that individuals keep can harm the people they love the most.

In the first episode of the second season, we take a look at the complicated lives of two families from a small town in the Eastern Cape, who are embroiled in an old and bitter rivalry. In the mist of the rivalry between their families, Zolile and Nomzamo find comfort in each other's arms and fall in love. The two decide to do right by their families and tell their parents about their relationship, a decision that has dire consequences; Nomzamo is forbidden from seeing Zolile by her mother Kholeka and Zolile is immediately sent back to university by his father, Lwazi. Zolile leaves for university and makes a promise to Nomzamo that they will be together again.

The following episodes, take us on a journey of discovery; with the series’ characters linked to each other in some way or another, we begin to realise just how much the secrets we keep within relationships can hurt the ones we love the most.   With each new episode, we are brought closer to finally discovering the secret that tore the young lovers apart with episode 19 taking us back to where it all started, in the small town in the Eastern Cape.

Each story is uniquely told with a hint of comedy, action and intense drama.

Tshisa plays off within popular youth culture. It focuses on two new stars – Bafana and Ayanda – who win the job to present a sizzling new TV show. Their boss is the stylish and determined young TV producer Vinolia. Bafana also works the recording studios and the nightclubs with a troupe of dancers as his career as a kwaito star takes off. Ayanda, meanwhile, is establishing herself as a model.

Tshisa is a celebration of South Africa’s unique and vibrant youth culture and media. But it is also a gripping family drama. The story moves out of the TV station and into the daily reality of the characters’ lives: Bafana’s family in Mondeor; his girlfriend, Precious, raised by a strictly traditional Ndebele grandmother; and Ayanda’s mother who has been growing progressively blind and must now learn to live with total blindness. Tshisa is a story of how our choices affect those we love – especially the effect of drugs on those choices.

Tshisa is a drama that reflects our lives and dreams as South Africans – within a hip and aspirational universe starring real life celebrities. It is a tale of life choices; the price of fame; the allure of the bling; the downward spiral of drugs; overcoming disability; love, relationships and HIV; families and the traditional ties that bind. And it’s packed with cliffhangers.

Bonisanani is a programme for children dealing with ethics, values and how to make your faith a more meaningful part of your everyday life. But we don’t lecture or talk down to our viewers, instead our three dynamic young presenters – Stephanie Sandows, KG Legwale and Sabelo Mtshali chat, argue and otherwise debate themselves through a minefield of issues and choices that children are facing today.

To be a part of this, the audience have to write to Bonisanani and tell the team about their event and why they think it should be on TV. We want to know what makes you special, why should we pick you and show your event to millions of people instead of someone else’s events.
