Michael Kyle is a loving husband and modern-day patriarch who rules his household with a unique and distinct parenting style. As he teaches his three children some of life's lessons, he does so with his own brand of wisdom, discipline and humour. Janet, Michael's wife and a caring mother to their three children, knows how to maintain that fine balance between taking care of their home, building her career and trading punch lines with her husband.
The kids are: High school student Jr., who is a regular recipient of his father's witty, disciplinary ways; the moody, adolescent daughter, Claire, whose favourite hobbies are asking Dad for money and giving him grief; and six-year-old Kady, who rarely lets Daddy have the last word. Jr., Claire and Kady know they can turn to their father if and when they need his guidance. Sometimes it seems like, even without their asking, Dad knows ahead of time what they might need, and he's only too happy to provide direction - often to their chagrin.
